Fall Carnival

We will be having our Fall Carnival Saturday, October 3, 2009. There will be lots of games, food, and fun. Don't forget, we will be having a live auction beginning at 12:00. King and queen procession will begin at 2:30, followed by crowning of WES king and queen. I hope to see everyone at the carnival. I am really looking forward to it!

Week of 9/28 - 10/2

This week we are going to be reading the story "Animal Park". Your child will be working on identifying cause and effect, in their reading. We are discussing wild animals. The phonics skill we will be working on is the short u sound, and final blends. This week's spelling words reinforce short u and final blends.

In math, we will be working on subtraction. Please try to reinforce these skills at home.

King and Queen

Congratulations to our king and queen, Jerimiah Roberts and McKenzie Plaskin! These two students have been working very hard to raise money for our school. Thank you to the other boys and girls who have already helped Jerimiah and McKenzie in their efforts.

Please help support Jerimiah and McKenzie as they continue to raise money for the school. We would love to see them crowned king and queen of Westmoreland Elementary School!

Week of 9/21 - 9/25

This week we will be reading the story "Get the Egg!" We will be working on words with the short e sound. Look for the new spelling and vocabulary lists to come home Monday afternoon. Please be sure and study these words with your child every night this week.
